Arsenio Bautista was born to Epifanio Bautista, a native of Bulacan, and Isabel Sacdalan Roque of Barangay Wawa, Orion. After their marriage, the couple settled in Bulacan, where they built their home and raised their family.
On December 14, 1942, they welcomed their son, Arsenio. Although he grew up away from Orion, the hometown of his mother remained an important part of his family history and identity.
A Homecoming of Faith and Heritage
Whenever circumstances allowed, Msgr. Bautista returned to his mother’s hometown to visit relatives and renew the family ties that connected him to Barangay Wawa. After receiving the Sacrament of Holy Orders, Fr. Arsenio began serving in various parish communities throughout Metro Manila. His ministry brought him into the lives of countless faithful whom he accompanied through moments of joy, sorrow, uncertainty, and hope.
He celebrated the sacraments, proclaimed the Word of God, listened to the concerns of the faithful, and offered pastoral guidance. Through the years, his steady and faithful service earned him the ecclesiastical title of Monsignor.

Some of the most meaningful moments of his priesthood unfolded beyond the usual setting of parish life. Msgr. Bautista served as Chaplain of Hospicio de San Jose. His pastoral work among the children and elderly residents of the institution reflected his commitment to compassionate service and priestly care.
His service also brought him to the Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno in Quiapo, Manila. There, he was invited to facilitate spiritual recollections and administer the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
