Music Ministry

Overview

The Music Ministry is a ministry under the Commission on Liturgy of St. Michael the Archangel Parish. It is composed of the parish choirs and music groups who serve during the Holy Mass, feast days, and other liturgical celebrations. Through sacred music, the ministry helps the faithful lift their hearts and voices to God and participate more fully in the liturgy.

Mission

To serve God and the parish community by leading the assembly in prayerful, reverent, and joyful singing, guided by the teachings of the Church on sacred music and the liturgy.

Vision

A parish community that worships God with one voice, where every liturgical celebration is enriched by music that inspires faith, unity, and devotion.

Main Responsibilities

1. Lead the congregation in singing during Masses, solemnities, and parish celebrations.
2. Prepare and select songs appropriate to the liturgical season and the readings of the day.
3. Hold regular rehearsals to maintain quality and readiness for liturgical service.
4. Coordinate with the parish priest and the Commission on Liturgy on schedules and assignments.
5. Form members in the spiritual, liturgical, and musical aspects of their ministry.
6. Encourage and welcome new members, especially the youth, to share their gifts in music.
