The Social Communication Ministry (SocCom) is a parish ministry that uses media, technology, and creativity to share the Church’s message, document parish life, support liturgical activities, and connect the community more closely with God.
Overview
The Social Communication Ministry (SocCom) is a parish ministry composed of youth and adult servants who use media, technology, and their God-given talents to share the activities, announcements, and messages of the Church with a wider community.
As a behind-the-scenes ministry, SocCom supports the parish through Mass livestreaming, photo and video documentation, graphic materials, announcements, presentations during Mass, and other media and technical services.
Through creativity, technology, and teamwork, the ministry seeks to help the parish communicate, connect, and bring people closer to God.
History
Before it became known as the Social Communication Ministry, the ministry was formerly called SINAG. During that time, its primary role was to serve as the Projector Ministry, providing visual presentations and technical support during Masses and other parish activities.
As technology developed and the communication needs of the parish continued to grow, the ministry gradually expanded its services. What began primarily as a projector and presentation ministry evolved into what is now the Social Communication Ministry (SocCom).
Today, SocCom handles a wider range of responsibilities, including livestreaming, photography, videography, graphic design, social media management, documentation, presentations, and other forms of digital communication.
Through the years, SocCom has continued to faithfully serve behind the scenes, using available talents, skills, and technology to help the parish communicate its mission, connect with the community, and share the message of Christ with more people.
What We Do
Communicate through social media – Share parish activities, messages, and updates through digital platforms.
Livestream Masses – Help bring the celebration of the Holy Mass to those who are unable to attend physically.
Document church events – Capture important parish moments through photography and videography.
Operate presentations during Mass – Provide visual and technical support for Mass presentations and other liturgical activities.
Create and post announcements – Prepare and share pubmats, announcements, schedules, and information about parish activities and events.
Provide media and technical support – Assist with the parish's various communication, presentation, and technology needs.
